The Miami-Dade County Office of Resilience and Savino & Miller Design Studio teamed up to put together a 5-year county capital improvement strategy adaptation action plan focusing on Little River area in Miami Dade. South Florida urban development took place over wetland thus climate change has created challenges related to sea level rise and heat island effect. The goal was to analyze this focus area and understand existing conditions and risks as well as completed, ongoing and planned improvement projects so that ultimately, we could overlay all the information and get a capital improvement strategy for the upcoming 5 years.
