The Miami-Dade County Office of Resilience and Savino & Miller Design Studio teamed up to develop a 5-year county capital improvement strategy adaptation action plan focusing on the Little River area in Miami-Dade. Urban development in South Florida occurred over wetlands, and climate change has introduced challenges related to sea level rise and the heat island effect. The goal was to analyze this focus area, understand the existing conditions and risks, and review completed, ongoing, and planned improvement projects. Ultimately, this process would allow us to consolidate all the information and create a comprehensive capital improvement strategy for the next 5 years.
