Town Center Plaza is the main community open space on Fisher Island. Bounded on three sides by the town marketplace and two restaurants and to the south by the island marina, it is the perfect opportunity to create a plaza which does what great plazas do: provide a place for residents and visitors alike to eat, congregate, converse, people watch, attend concerts and other events, and experience a beautiful open space. The plaza’s design is simple and elegant, laid out in a symmetry which reflects the surrounding architectural geometry. Large Live Oak trees are placed to provide an extensive shade canopy flanking the plaza, which is paved in native keystone and limestone. A central fountain activates the space while providing seating, along with site furniture to encourage day and nighttime use.
