The Coconut Grove Micro Park aims to transform a low-lying waterfront lot in the Grove that is at risk for flooding and acts as channel for storm surge into the adjacent neighborhood.

Savino & Miller Design Studio took on the role of Landscape Architect for the project which includes designs for naturally resilient solutions for future sea level rise and hurricane storm surge including an earthen berm, preservation of existing trees, native plantings for pollinators, and an accessible paved path. SMDS is currently working on the final design of tree management plans, hardscape and paving features, planting plans, and conceptual grading.
