The City of Orange City has experienced a period of growth and expansion over the last ten years. To better prepare the city for its continued development, they teamed up with Corradino and Savino & Miller Design Studio to generate a Master Plan to initiate improvements in the city’s parks, policies, and programs over the next five years. The plan focuses on providing a sense of community, improving health, and providing a diverse range of recreational activities for all age groups.

SMDS utilized several data sets on transportation, demographics, history, ecology, and existing infrastructure to identify needs of the city. Their scope included site visits, community engagement, operational and historical data analysis, all prior to generating the master plan. The final product provides a clear vision with decisive but flexible development strategies for the city’s future park improvements.
